Stages of Care
Typically, patients encounter 3 stages of care.
The first stage is to RELIEF acute symptoms; reduction of pain and discomforts. Depending on how long you may have had the problem, this stage could last anywhere between 3-4 visits to 12 visits.
The second stage focuses on CORRECTION of the problems for proper tissue healing and function normalization; rehabilitation and neuromuscular re-education. Although pain and discomforts may have subsided during this stage, tissue healing is still occurring. It is important for patients to follow through with continued chiropractic care and recommended home exercises.
The third stage is WELLNESS care. Once the tissues have healed and biomechanics restored, it is recommended patients continue with periodic wellness care. For some, this could be once per month or once every few months. Just as you would take your car in for an oil change or tune up or your teeth in for check up, your body requires similar check ups to catch minor problems, preventing major ones.
